- Bard: in every tavern, there are bards. do they ever shut up? no. she's actually a pretty decent one, with a lovely singing voice matched about average skills with a viola and a harp. she loves to tell stories, and she knows a lot of stories. she even learnt devash to learn more stories and poems and songs, because who does love poems better than the anvari? for a few gold or some alcohol, annie is always ready to spin a tale about heroes, dragons, magical beasts, the gods, anything you fancy, she knows it all. supposedly.
- Didn't you-: "i know you from somewhere" or "didn't you do something" is usually something annie hears on account of her being able to find any sort of trouble in existence. weren't you involved in trying to steal a dragon egg? sure, maybe, didn't go well though. didn't you serenade a princess? tried to, but apparently wasn't "high class enough" or something. just about anything you could think of, annie has tried to get involved in it at least once or twice. she has a few stories. and if she hasn't, well, she will just make them up. the most interesting girl in the world.
- can i pet your dog: annie loves dogs, cats, birds, reptiles - if it's furry, has feathers or scales, there's a good chance that annie will sidetrack her entire day to fuss over it. she has a soft spot for dogs (because. half-lupin. she's basically one of them says a guy that she throws a knife at), cats are wary of her but she likes to bribe them with treats. she tries to mimic back bird calls and songs. If she ever learns how to talk to animals, there's a good chance that she'll never give another person her full attention ever again.

The self-proclaimed "most interesting girl in the world" and "Cerie's favourite idiot", Annie is a curious, carefree and very much "fuck around and find out" kind of girl that gets into more trouble than she typically knows what to do with. She is the sort to also manage to either talk her way out of things, make her way with an incredible stroke of luck or sheer idiotic brilliance. This has unfortunately meant that Annie also thinks that she can do just about anything if she puts her mind to it, and usually people don't tell her no. She's charming in an oddly disarming way, in that she can lie without blinking, is endlessly enthusiastic about just about anything if you catch her in the right mood and has the general disposition of a particularly excitable border collie. Her charm is infectious and she loves trying to drag other people into her schemes and plans, which can be anything from "kidnapping an owlbear to raise as a mount" to "i think we should rob the local lord and use the money to fund this random cause i have decided to care about today".
The daughter of a famous courtesan that Annie rarely brings up, not because she's ashamed of her mother, but because it was necessary for her mother to keep her a secret whilst she was growing up. She's actually not so sure whether it really was necessary now that she's grown up, but she didn't want for anything during her childhood by any stretch of the imagination. She grew up in Mriyah with sons and daughter of other courtesans that she was raised with as her brothers and sisters. They had tutors in the arts - Annie was an awful painter, but she was a good singer and actress, grew up to be quite pretty with tan skin, green eyes and fox-like features with large canine ears and a bushy tail. There was no instrument that she took to naturally, but she was forced to learn the viola, harp and piano to compliment her natural singing voice. Her response to her academics tutors was more varied; she loved to learn about the world, but was often bored by theoretical things and had a particular hatred for maths.
In addition, she liked to explore the streets of Mriyah alone as a child and a teenager. She made some friends with street urchins when she pretended to be one of them, stealing from merchant stands, running hustles with them and generally causing chaos. It was playing at being downtrodden, but she could at least develop some sympathies for them - she stole from her own tutors and houses, books, food, even letting some of them hide in her room when they got into too much trouble with the guard. Her mother was kind enough to turn a blind eye, although she'd always been too soft on her antics. But she hoped her daughter would become a performer in the Capital, that spark would make her better - more insightful, a revolutionary in a nice, safe way.
Her mother did not expect Annie to announce that she was leaving home to go travel the world, instead of taking a position that her mother had carefully arranged with the director of a leading theater company. The two argued, but ultimately decided it was for the best. There were other forms of entertainment - as long as Annie promised to write and come home when she'd finally found what she was looking for, preferably with a wealthy wife or husband or some wealth of her own. She still writes, but as for keeping safe, looking for anything rich… Well. She hasn't really been doing that. Like the average devout follower of Cerie, Annie goes where she pleases and does what she feels like. Most of the time, she tries to do some good along the way. Sometimes, she gets all caught up in the moment and just enjoys herself.
One day, she hopes that other bards will sing a song about her exploits. It might reach all the way back to home and mean that her mother truly has something to be proud of. She's loved either way.
