Appearance

The Liya are cousins to the Woren. They take on a humanoid appearance with beastial features such as having a tail of various length, ears, etc.. While the Woren take on a beastial appearance altogether, the liya possess far less fur. Depending on their heritage, tiny details such as ear shape or type can be affected by the parent race. Although both the Woren and Liya possess different features from one another, one of the most similar ones is their lean and agile bodies. The liya possess lean muscle tone, and are very athletic in stature.

The Liya are not known for being very tall individuals, possessing similar traits as their muscle tone; although this is the generalization, it's not impossible to meet very tall Liya either. It is not uncommon, also, for eye and hair color variants to be the same as those possessed by common felines; however, Liya are very humanoid in appearance, possessing normal hues of eye and hair color as any other race.

Personality

Because liyans are not restricted to what type of societies they are found in, their personalities possess a wide variety of characteristics. A common myth is that liya possess animal-like personalities, so they act like cats do, etc while in the spectacle of public society. This is false and, to be honest, a little bit of an insult, especially calling them by terms referring to their primitive and unevolved brethren. While the liya possess a semi-bestial appearance, their personalities are no more or less different than those they interact with. Depending on which region one finds themselves, the liya will typically adapt to that culture to survive, so it is not uncommon to find a tribe of hostile liya in one region, and turn around and find extremely docile ones in another.

Because of this trait in their personalities, the region a liyan is raised up in will typically determine what kind of profession they find themselves in; for example, a liyan raised in the woods may grow up becoming a ranger, or perhaps one who has lived within city walls its entire life may join the ranks of a knighthood to protect its homeland. Due to this fact, liyan are rarely stereotyped to a single type of profession, and can fill just about any ranks that are required of them.

Caution to the foreigner, however, as liyans are quite agile and dexterous. Liyans are more commonly found in professions that make excellent use of their agile skills. Thuggery is no exception, and liyans having fallen on hard times are not above resorting to thievery to make a living. These are most common in the slum areas of the city or the back alleys. Tourists and foreigners would do well to stay to the lit areas or make good friends to travel with at night if they're in a suspicious area of the city. They would do well to know the areas of the city.

Genealogy

A Woren that has children with a Human, the child is always born Liya. If a Liya and a Liya where to have children, they will always be born a Liya. If a human and a Liya have a child it will always be born a human with a 5% chance of being born a Liya. Liya and Woren always have Liya children.

Relation with ancestral bloodlines.

Liya tend to get along with Woren they have bloodline and tribal ties too, but usually Liya and Woren tend to have this tension among them. Some say its because Woren are jealous of the Liya, as they are accepted in human and even elven communities with rarely any problems. Woren are typically stereotyped as being dangerous and volatile.
