History
The Rai came from the Kasami Iislands and can trade their roots to a ancient mysterious giant race known as the Old Fathers and crossbreeding with ancient Humans.
Ancient Rai began to move towards west Amihama and into the Shimatori greenlands.here after many years of fighting for dominance over the land against the different tribes amongst each other. After the founding of Amihama and the crowning of the First Emperor they began to develop into the rai and the culture that is known today. There is little to no history regarding the rai before the crowning of the first emperor all of them lived in Barbarian tribes scattered through Amihama.
Appearance
with a few exceptions, the most trademark marking of a Rai are the two horns upon their head; however, their features are typically quite varied, much like human beings (their face being the most notable one), but their features can also prove to be quite feral in nature; that is, their skin color can sometimes take on a more demonic hue and appearance whereas the majority of them tend to share the same skin color as humans. Hair and eye color have virtually no limitations to color. They are not a small race. Even women tend to be only a half-foot or so shorter than most males (and some of them are equal in stature to their male counterparts), having broad shoulders and muscular, powerful bodies.
Society
rai prize honor over all other things in life first to bring honor to their clan (and by extension, the Empire) and secondly bringing honor to the self and to their sense of self-worth as an individual. Likewise, hospitality is considered one of the greatest honors that can be bestowed.
There is no discrimination between genders in Rai society. Women are able to pursue the same career choices as men, rise to positions of power and are even expected to answer to the call for battle just as men are. Strength (both physical and mental), courage, initiative and independence are prized traits in all Rai . Traditionally, children are seen as children of the parents, but are raised as children of the clan. However, because Of the land not becoming as dangerous as it used to be and families creating homes and settling down in various areas around Amihama. this typical clan scheme has been changing, and life is beginning to become more centered around the nuclear family rather than the greater clan.
