(Creature)
CR: By Class
Type: Humanoid (Human)
Environment: Northern T'Lune
Alignment: Any

The Vilkur are famed as brawny, boorish raiders and brawlers. While true, this simplistic description does not do them justice. Superb crafters and artists, unquenchably curious explorers, wholehearted romantics, lusty lovers, generous providers, shrewd traders, masterful shipwrights, cunning strategists, wise counselors, and quick-witted competitors—Vilkur may be any of these.

Appearance

Vilkur's hair and eye color tends to vary, but it seems that blonde or red hair is dominant for hair color and green or blue for eyes. They tend to be a little bit taller than most humans usually being 6'0 to 6'1 even the females. They tend to dress in heavy leathers, furs and wool clothing due to the colder climate. The Vilkur often have long hair, even the men who generally wear beards. They decorate their hair with simple braids and beads and leathers. Their builds tend to be for strength, speed and hard work whether it is with a sword, axe and shield; or just farming the lands. They wear scars with pride.

History

Its unclear how humans went from Ezlia to Northern T'lune some have theories that it could have been a migration ages ago or just some Alerians. Whatever the case may be this small human ethnicity its rich with its own culture and civilization

Culture

In winter, Vilkur spend their time carousing and telling tales through the shrieking dark of weeks-long blizzards, cut off from the rest of the world in their longhouses, ready at any time to defend their holdings from wolves, trolls, or worse. In summer, Vilkur farm the land and hunt game, gathering surplus for the long winter months.

Even at peace, the Vilkur have a deep competitive streak. Competition can be entirely amicable, but even a friendly competition can turn into a vicious rivalry or outright hostility if one party feels his honor was impugned.

Vilkur compete through feats of strength and stamina. Single combat, as the ultimate test of all these qualities, is quite common. This love of battle and the status Vilkur gain from defeating their foes lead some Vilkur to duel monsters instead of just their brethren in an effort to win more prestige. Troll wrestling is particularly popular among such folk, and torn-off, cauterized troll limbs are highly valued trophies of such activities.

Vilkur almost always adopt their forebears’ professions, laboring alongside parents, siblings, and children. To Vilkur traditionalists, marriage is the only legitimate way to change livelihoods, and leaving the family’s occupation is otherwise tantamount to abandoning the family, redeemable only through extraordinary success. Winning glory (and loot) transcends careers.

Glint-Tongued (Vilkur): You have a gift for poetic turns of phrase and vicious streams of insults. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Charisma-based skill checks made to impress or persuade other Ulfen (or, at the GM’s option, other poetically-minded people), and a +2 trait bonus on Intimidate checks.

Honor-Driven (Vilkur): Your honor is such a part of you that you can sense it (or its lack) in others. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Sense Motive checks, and Sense Motive is always a class skill for you.

Also, once per day on your turn as a free action, you may provide one adjacent ally a +2 trait bonus to his Armor Class.
